What are Ballet lessons like?

Im going to take them.

What are Ballet lessons like?

A typical ballet class begins with 20 to 30 minutes of barre work. You will learn plie', tendu, battement, de'gage', developpe', frappe', fondue, rond de jambe....and a few more. These exercises are done at the barre, first on the right foot, then you turn and do them on the left. They will allow you to learn the proper way to hold your body, your arms, your head and neck. You will learn turn out of the legs and strengthen your core. Barre is an important part of our class.

Next you will spend some time out on the dance floor (center floor work). You will learn simple ballet steps to begin with...for example...chasse', glissade, pas de chat, pas de bourree', assemble', jete', arabasque, chaine' turns, pirouette turns, changement, ecchappe'....and more. Once the simple steps have been mastered then you will begin to put steps together to create movements that will make up a dance.

Ballet is a beautiful art form. It teaches correct body alignment, grace and poise, and strengthens you entire body. Expect to have sore muscles after the first few lessons until your body is used to it, then it will get much easier. I hope this helps you prepare for your first ballet class.

When I was in dancing...we did some ballet and I loved it...
they tone your legs and core like nothing else. they are also helpful for balance and grace even if you don't do more than just a beginners class, you will notice yourself getting into shap if nothing else.
Uh...ballet lessons are where you go to a place and you get lessons on ballet....

so flippin ignorant, I swear....
in my class we do...

-push ups, sit ups, and another exercise to arch your back

-barre work

center work

Well you start with bar exercises an work your way to the center.
amazing!! first, you do barre work, like plies, relevees, tendus, ron du james, batmas, frappes, and a bunch of other stuff. then, you go out onto the floor and do an adagio or something, then go across the floor and do leaps and stuff, then go back out into the middle, and do turns and end!! that's what we do anyway!! i love ballet!! hope you do too!!
they are so wonderful,i love them they make you feel so good undiscribeable.Just amazing.
